맷 위버는 남북 전쟁 후 멕시코로 돌아오지만 브루스터가 자신의 농장을 메드포드에게 판 것을 알게 된다. 맷은 자신의 농장을 되찾기 위해 브루스터를 찾아가지만 소용이 없다. 그러던 중 메드포드가 죽고 마을이 시끄러워지자 브루스터는 맷을 해치울 총잡이를 고용하려 한다. 이때 '줄'이라는 미스테리한 사나이가 등장하는데...
